Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.
A FEW SHOWERS TODAY, MAINLY THIS AFTERNOON
Expect a few showers about the upper South Island and lower North Island today, perhaps Northland may see an afternoon shower too. These showers are mostly due to some cold upper air hanging about over New Zealand, the upper South Island the air is the coldest. If this was summer thunderstorms may occur but surface temperatures and moisture isn’t high enough.
Roll on summer for thunderstorms!
A LITTLE FOGGY PERHAPS
A fog risk exists this morning about the lower South Island and inland parts of the North Island, it may just be a few mist patches, something between transparent and opaque at least.
HEAVY RAIN RISK HAS SHIFTED TO SATURDAY
Some rain is still potentially looming, areas of rain do move in on Friday but nothing heavy in nature, that risk appears to have shifted to Saturday and is mainly in the northeast.
