Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…
SETTLED WEATHER TODAY, SOME FOG
An anticyclone brings settled weather today, mostly sunny with light winds and afternoon sea breezes. Expect areas of fog this morning and again overnight for the North Island, some parts of the South Island too mainly inland Buller.
Temperatures are warm also in the mid to late twenties, perhaps hitting 30 about some eastern regions.
RAIN WHERE IT’S NEEDED ON THE WAY – TUE / WED
A front moves onto the lower South Island on Tuesday afternoon then moves northwards to reach the Nelson / Marlborough regions around midday on Wednesday. The good news is this is looking likely to bring some good rain to the lower and eastern South Island where it is quite dry at the moment.

RAIN WHERE IT’S NOT NEEDED – THURSDAY
Conversely compared to the above, some rain is on the way for the eastern North Island on Thursday. Thankfully it’s not anywhere near as much as what occurred there with ex tropical cyclone Gabrielle but still not welcome just at the moment.
