MORE THUNDERSTORMS TO COME THIS WEEK
We’ve had a few thunderstorms lately and there is more unstable weather to come this week, around the 25th December is when the unstable activity finally moves on thanks to cold upper air finally moving out of the way.

CHRISTMAS DAY FORECAST
Christmas Day is currently looking to be mainly settled at this stage with high pressure covering the country, we’ve been through the wringer lately and around the 24th or 25th conditions finally calm down. Till then, more instability in store as mentioned above.
COOL WEEK IN THE EAST
Airflows from the south or east bring cloud and cool temperatures to eastern regions this week, especially the eastern South Island. Temperatures in Christchurch all week staying in the mid to late teens.
Around the 24th or 25th December the temperature dial starts to get turned up, till then the upper North Island has plenty of warm weather coming up.
