Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.

SOME HEAVY RAIN FOR GISBORNE TODAY

A trough moving past the northeastern corner of the North Island today brings some rain, there could be the odd heavy fall with some hail, easing this evening.




SETTLED THROUGH TO MONDAY

High pressure expends over the North Island on Saturday and hangs around in some form through to Monday bringing settled weather. This will mean some sun and frosty conditions in the mornings, but it won’t always be cloud free, western regions and the far south may see cloud at times, perhaps even a shower or two. Eastern regions on average will be sunnier.

High cloud starts spreading in from the west on Monday ahead of a front approaching in the Tasman Sea.

HEAVY RAIN NELSON, MARLBOROUGH AND BULLER ON TUESDAY

The front mentioned above moves in on Tuesday and this may bring heavy rain to the top of the South Island, Nelson and Tasman in particular will be a few regions to keep an eye on.

It looks like another 100mm+ is inbound for Kerikeri. What a few months it’s been.
