Weather chaos around the globe

> From the WeatherWatch archives

WeatherWatch.co.nz looks into stormy weather n Australia, UK, Europe, New Zealand and America – disrupting holiday travel plans all over the globe this Christmas.

Whether you’re in London, Paris, Brisbane, Moscow, New York or Wellington – wild weather is lashing many parts of the world these Christmas holidays.

Major snow and ice have disrupted the travel plans estimated by WeatherWatch.co.nz to be in the millions as major airport after major airport is shut down due to snow.

A major snow storm is this morning continuing to rage across eastern states of America, while flooding is now affecting Queensland after the first tropical cyclone of the season, a weak category 1 cyclone named Tasha, hit inland parts of Brisbane.

Meanwhile Moscow airport was closed Monday due to snow and ice and Paris’s main airport was also closed not only because of snowy conditions outside, but also because there were fears the roof would collapse in one terminal.

New Zealand might not be having those same travel problems but certainly today is one that many would prefer indoors rather than a tent or caravan, as wind and rain warnings and watches blanket much of New Zealand.
