We have a few showers about on Thursday but Friday looks drier. Most regions are a little cooler than they were earlier this week when the Aussie heatwave was tracking by.
With high pressure parked to NZ’s west we can expect a southerly quarter flow for Waitangi Day and into Friday.
Those showers are mostly in the South Island for Waitangi Day – Southland, Otago, West Coast and Canterbury. They are hit and miss for most in the eastern side.
Friday looks even drier but there may be a few light showers or drizzle patches around Hawke’s Bay.
Many places on Friday will be warmer – but Hawke’s Bay and the eastern side of NZ looks average to cooler than average. For many in the east you could also say that it’s finally refreshing!
