This weekend sees a mix of sunny, potentially hot, weather – but also a lot of cloud and rain or showers in the north.

A few thunderstorms are also possible for the upper and western North Island.

But all eyes are now focused on next Tuesday and Wednesday, when a subtropical low is expected to affect much of the North Island with a now fairly high chance of severe weather.
