New Zealand and Australia continue to share similar weather patterns with a couple of big high pressure zones moving through and a couple of low pressure systems too.
For NZ the South Island will be more winter-like in the days ahead while the North Island has milder sub-tropical winds at times.
Next week a sub-tropical low near Northland will interact with a powerful high pressure zone near Southland. It’s one to watch – as it may create easterly gales in northern NZ.
Aussie doesn’t have much severe weather – but a storm in the Southern Ocean and associated cold front will swipe WA with gales in some areas, then brush coastal SA, VIC and TAS.
**Programming note: After a very busy week (+ staff with covid) we have no video tomorrow/Friday. Our next video will be on Monday. Have a great weekend! Please visit WeatherWatch.co.nz for extra maps and details over the next few days.
