We’re heading into a warmer than average weekend for many regions, with perhaps the exception of the eastern side of the country at first. Temperatures will be several degrees above normal by day, especially inland across both islands.
A lot of high pressure is crossing the country until Tuesday bringing mild weather and mainly dry conditions (a few showers here and there).
By Tuesday warm NW winds kick in and by Wednesday a wintry change is possible in the south, heavy rain on the West Coast and windy, warm and sunny for the North Island.
Later next week a low in the Tasman Sea may bring rain to NZ from the west but not yet locked in.
