High pressure covers NZ today but low pressure is moving back in for the weekend with an unsettled westerly flow which will see more isolated downpours and possible thunder, and more rain for saturated parts of the North Island.
While it is more wet weather one positive is that rainfall totals do look to be lower than in previous weeks.
Australia has gale force winds along the southern coastline and sliding up towards Sydney for a time, with rain hugging the southern coastal states and TAS.
We have your forecast to Monday.
