VIDEO: Your end of week + weekend forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The forecast for the rest of the short working week and across the upcoming weekend is a cold one – with frosty mornings this week followed by possible snow on the ranges this weekend.

For Wednesday, Thursday and Friday most of New Zealand will enjoy settled or calm weather with cold mornings in the South Island and widespread frosts followed by mostly sunny weather. There are some coastal showers, mostly around the North Island but still generally dry.

By Friday a light westerly flow develops in the lower South Island and by the weekend colder southerlies again push northwards bringing snow to the South Island ranges and wintry showers along the east coast of both islands.

Here’s the latest with head forecaster Philip Duncan.
