VIDEO: Windy westerlies about to dominate thanks to big storm near Antarctica

Westerly winds kick in today and Friday and remain off and on for the next week or two, fuelled next week by a huge storm hugging Antarctica.

This large storm will engulf the skies from Australia and NZ southwards to Antarctica – and this means windy westerlies blowing through next week.

It also means some rain for our hydro lakes and the West Coast.  

We give you the latest weather forecast for the weekend and the outlook for next week.
