A slightly milder westerly arrives in the South Island on Sunday from Tasmania, then a cold front moves up the South Island early next week.
A few coastal showers for the North Island but generally leaning drier.
A large portion of Australia is drier at the moment although showers continue along the eastern coastline and rain and possibly even some snow into Tasmania and Vic mountains this weekend.
