VIDEO: Wednesday gales, snow, rain, a temperature drop – then calmness

Winter weather is surging across New Zealand with Wednesday looking colder and windier in a number of regions.

The upper North Island looks most exposed to gales, the western North Island and lower South Island most exposed to rain and the Southern Alps and Central and lower North Island ranges/mountains get snow too.

Then as we head into the weekend, calmer high pressure returns.
