A stormy low in south eastern Australia will track towards the South Island for the middle of Waitangi Weekend but will fall apart in the North Island.
The upper North Island still has to deal with heavy downpours, humidity and maybe thunderstorms today and Friday – but finally the week-long-event comes to an end.
The front coming in late Sunday or Monday morning looks weak and broken up. For the most part the weather is improving for northern NZ next week. In the South Island western and southern areas have rain, but eastern and central parts of NZ look drier. Australia has a stormy southerly pushing through SA, VIC and TAS over the coming days with a temperature drop and gales.
**Programming Note: We have no video on Friday (which is why this covers 7 days ahead) – and Monday is Waitangi Day. Our next video will be Tuesday February 7th.
