VIDEO: Typical spring weather this week, Tasman low by Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Mild northerlies for this time of year will spread across a large portion of NZ this week while Australia has a southerly flow across Adelaide in particular at the moment.

Over the coming days rain and showers impact those facing the Tasman Sea, both the eastern side of Australia and the western side of New Zealand.

On Friday a wintry southerly comes into the South Island and advances further northwards on Saturday – but weakens as it heads into the North Island.

I forgot to ask the AUS and NZ people: The willy willies here in the northern hemisphere generate 4000 volts per square meter and the ionic charge is positive. Would the ones in the southern hemisphere have a negative charge as a flip flop? clockwise willies. Which also reminds me to ask what do they call a clockwise rotating typhoon? Seems hurricanes and typhoons rotate counter-clockwise just like the toilets here.

Hi Shawn, the same tornado and cyclone systems exist down under, but they just spin in the opposite direction – like your toilets 🙂

You guys down-under have got some of the most friendliest weather, even the tornadoes are polite and are good time keepers. I can’t understand why with such hospitable weather you Aussies got the most dangerous animals down there. Either something wants to eat you or poison you. 😂
