VIDEO: Two offshore lows flirt with NZ & Australia

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Sub-tropical winds for northern NZ and a southerly for eastern Australia – all going around a low in the Tasman Sea and an incoming high pressure zone from Australia.

It means more unsettled weather for parts of NZ – but it won’t be as windy or stormy as it has been in recent days. Wellington and other parts of Central NZ have northerly gales today but they will ease for Wednesday.

The low in the Tasman will likely only brush northern parts of the North Island – but is one to monitor. Another low pressure zone coming in this weekend around Tasmania and Victoria.

TAS looks like it’s in the thick of it – but VIC and other mainland states are on the edge of the wet weather, but may get a little.

We have your forecast to Sunday – and tomorrow our video will cover Labour Day Monday too, for NZ’s upcoming long weekend.

*Programming note: We normally have a Pacific Islands 7 Day outlook each Tuesday now, but this week it will be issued tomorrow, Wednesday, instead. See you then!
