VIDEO: Two highs on the way – but windier westerlies in between

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Lows in the Southern Ocean and weak fronts brushing the North Island, that’s the new pattern that is affecting New Zealand as large highs from Australia continue to drift our way and still dominate the weather overall.

The forecast for the next week shows more showers, but still plenty of long dry spells.

Average to warmer than average afternoons continue across the country with lighter winds until Thursday and Friday when westerlies kick back in again.
