After half a day stalled near Great Barrier Island the cyclone is today on the move again, tracking SE towards East Cape and then out over open waters away from New Zealand on Wednesday and Thursday.
As it pulls away today it’s going to drag in stronger wind gusts for Auckland – with more damaging gales until tonight. It finally eases properly over Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Rain and wind are sliding down NZ today – we track it all and give you the forecast to the weekend where, hopefully, we do get some high pressure finally coming back in nationwide.
