High pressure is rolling in for most places this weekend but next week all eyes will be to the north west of New Zealand as a tropical cyclone tracks towards us. High pressure over Tasmania next week will influence the precise tracking of this storm and whether or not it directly hits Northland or brushes by out at sea will be decided by that large high.
If the tropical storm does move in it would likely have a very positive impact on the drought – but may be too much of a good thing with a risk of slips and flooding and also wind damage too (if the low itself comes in). It’s not yet locked in – but we take a close look at the latest models.
