There may be a few temperature fluctuations in the southern half of the South Island in particular but the further north you go up New Zealand this week the more consistent the temperatures will be.
We track the daily showers across both main islands and show all the lows forming in the tropics right now.
This video covers New Zealand’s forecast through until Sunday, including Waitangi Day this Thursday.

Would that 958 hPa low to the east of the Chathams on Thursday be classified as a cyclone?

Hi Jason, that low will form into a cyclonic storm well east of NZ, but too far south to be classified as a tropical cyclone – it will have a cold core to it which is why it’s so wide in size (compared to Tropical Cyclones which have densely packed winds right at the centre).
