VIDEO: This week – Another chance for northern rain, more southern frosts

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We’re now past the shortest day of the year and this week brings a large Tasman Sea low with sub-tropical connections for northern NZ, while southern NZ has more frosts – some heavy inland.

High pressure will bring drier than normal weather to southern areas while northern area may lean wetter in some spots thanks to this low mid to late week.

By the weekend it’s clearing but a new, colder, southerly will be forming for the whole country as we go into next week.
