We track the weather makers across Australia, the tropics and New Zealand as stormy weather heads to NZ itself over the next 5 days.
Not everyone has severe weather but most places get some rain and/or windy conditions.
There are two cool downs – the first one more localised to the lower South Island on Saturday, the second one goes further north around Tue/Wed next week.
We also take a quick look at weather conditions across the tropical island nations to our north.

People who don’t like when its rainy should try living without water for a day or two. Rain is not without practical benefits for the whole ‘life’ thing
