VIDEO: Stormy Southern Ocean brings unsettled weather

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Ex-cyclone Seroja has now merged with a low in the Southern Ocean to create a powerful (but offshore) storm. This will give Tasmania and NZ’s South Island a blast of windier (and then cooler) weather mid to late week.

This weekend is also a bit unsettled although a fair amount of high pressure is in the area. Next week looks calm over on the left hand side of the screen (Western Australia) but unsettled Autumn weather continues over New Zealand.
