VIDEO: Special Update: Cyclone Gretel to narrowly pass northern NZ on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We have the latest on Cyclone Gretel plus the nationwide outlook for the rest of the week as a cool down moves in.

Cyclone Gretel continues to track towards northern NZ and modelling suggest the centre will remain at sea with the outer winds and rain only brushing land. Still, there are some severe weather risks which we will cover.

There’s also a cold change moving up the South Island with below normal daytime and overnight temperatures for the next 48 hours. It will affect some parts of the North Island too before the next big high rolls in.
