Windy weather is about to spread across both New Zealand and Australia with severe gales possible.
There will be a big difference in temperatures from one side of the Tasman to the other though, with New Zealand warming up into the 20s in many places (after a cooler Thursday in the south) while Australia has two colder changes moving in – one over the next 24 hours and the other late weekend and early next week.
The storm developing this Sunday and Monday around Tasmania and into the Southern Ocean area may bring some wintry weather back into Australia for a time next week – while NZ looks milder and more settled to begin with next week.
