New Zealand has frosts for the first time this year in the south while showers and colder sou’easters affect the North Island. This set-up remains all week and doesn’t fall apart until the weekend – when another injection of cooler air moves in to the south.

The windier change on Sunday will likely stop the frosts of this week for a time in southern NZ.

Australia has heavy rain around Victoria but lower totals elsewhere.
