High pressure lingers over the country until Sunday bringing mostly settled weather.
Winds will be light and variable with a few remaining frosts and fog patches.
Next week a low moves in – quite a large area of low pressure with broken rain bands but still a majority of the North Island should see some rain – and the eastern South Island.
