VIDEO: Severe Hurricane Laura approaching the USA, + NZ’s drier start to September

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We’re again tracking severe weather in the Northern Hemisphere as historic Hurricane Laura approaches the US to make landfall soon.

It’s a major event and worth monitoring as it moves in.

Meanwhile, back in NZ we’re tracking a spring westerly pattern which will still see some cold nights (and frosts) but also plenty of mild days.

September is kicking off quite settled, despite some brief windy and showery weather the first week of September may also lean quite dry with high pressure dominating.
