VIDEO: Severe gales for NZ on Saturday, westerlies may ease in a week

Another surge of windier and warmer weather is about to move in – peaking on Saturday around the South Island and lower North Island. Heavy rain will also be falling on the West Coast. Conditions ease a little on Sunday but next week kicks off with another storm south of the country driving in more windy spring-like westerlies across the nation.

There will be more wet weather from the west next week too, and even a chance on Tuesday of some snow for the southern ski fields.

One week from now these westerly winds may finally ease.

*Apologies we had no video yesterday/Wednesday – we’re performing maintenance in our studio and have been one computer down this week!
