Low pressure is slowly exiting Australia in the days ahead but so too is high pressure and the two will impact NZ mid to late next week with the possibility of heavy rain and gales for New Zealand.
The high pressure zone next week will be far enough north to pull down moisture-rich air from the tropics and pull it down to NZ…but it will then block that rain from moving through, increasing localised slip and flooding risks for the upper side of both main islands, such as Nelson and Northland.
Australia’s weather looks quite changeable next week with a burst of westerlies developing and moving through from WA to VIC.
