NZ has severe weather risks this weekend despite high pressure zones dominating for most of May.
A stormy low pressure system from Tasmania will drift NZ’s way this weekend (but falls apart).
This low has the potential to deliver over 120mm in Hobart in the days ahead, then by Sunday it could bring over 100mm to the West Coast of the South Island…this front then falls apart over the North Island on Monday bringing little rain, for some only a few showers.
Behind it – another significant high pressure zone, one of at least three dominating NZ and southern Australia this month.
