VIDEO: NZ’s changeable weather + Update on Aussie deluge

> From the WeatherWatch archives

NZ has varying weather over the coming week while Australia seems to be in a pattern of high pressure then low pressure/rain.

Heavy rain will set in across VIC and TAS over the next day or two with up to 200mm possible in some areas – slips, flooding and road closures are all quite possible.

The Aussie rain band reaches NZ on Sunday but only as a showery system in the west (mostly the South Island).

We also have a low pressure zone from Fiji dropping south towards NZ this weekend. It’s likely to remain just offshore, but may brush the North Island’s north east for a time (Gisborne, East Cape). Surfers may like the forecast there too!
