VIDEO: NZ – Severe gales, snow, hail, rain, frosts & sunshine

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Australia’s sending NZ their gale westerlies – and they ramp up today in the South Island and spread across the rest of the country on Wednesday before turning south to south-west.

Heavy snow for the Southern Alps, snow for the Central North Island and ranges, plus hail and thunder from the west – but for many in the east and north of each island the weather will likely be sunnier and drier.

Australia has more settled weather thanks to high pressure – and that high pressure zone will reach NZ as early as Thursday bringing frosts which will expand nationwide going into Friday/Saturday.

We have your NZ and Australia forecast through to Monday…
