VIDEO: NZ RainWatch: Forget cyclones, it’s anticyclones here bringing more dry weather

7 Day Outlook —- For now New Zealand is truly in a dry run of weather as high pressure zones smother the country and keep tropical lows and most Southern Ocean storms well away from us.

Despite a few showers – and some locally may be heavy and bring relief this week – most places lean dry or drier than average.  The only exception is the very south to south-west of the South Island  which may get some brief late week rain.

Put short, if it’s dry where you are now then chances are it will be even drier in a week.

We take a close up look at New Zealand’s weather for the next 7 days ahead + a big picture 7 day rainfall map of Australasia to get your head around where the rain is falling – and where it is not.

See our special Tropical Cyclones update here, tracking all 3 current storms in Australasia. (Published Tuesday AM NZDT)
