A cold change, heavy West Coast rain and a tropical cyclone are both in the forecast next week although, for now, the cyclone is more immediately a Queensland problem.
Please Note: Since this video was recorded this morning, MetService has now issued a RED WARNING for WEST COAST with up to 600 to 800mm possible in the ranges. Full details here.
For New Zealand the main headline will be the heat and humidity, which is pretty “full on” for some places finally easing back more from Sunday or Monday.
In fact Tuesday and Wednesday look significantly cooler in some parts of the country as the next high pressure zone moves in.
But also around this same time the next tropical cyclone of the season may be turning into a “severe” storm in the Coral Sea area. We’ll keep you posted.
