A storm over Tasmania will drift to NZ but entirely fall apart, bringing some wind and rain into the South Island this week from the west, then a few showers into the North Island next week with a cool change.
Next week another enormous high pressure zone will centre itself smack-bang over NZ, while the next heavy rain event moves into Queensland.
In the tropics, apart from a few showers, winds are fairly light and conditions quite settled.
