> From the WeatherWatch archives

Video — Philip Duncan and nzherald.co.nz bring you the latest on the Olympics weather plus details on the Tasman Sea low which could prompt rain warnings for both islands from Sunday through to next Thursday.

Heavy rain is expected for parched parts of the South Island but it will be cold rain with sleet possible higher up.  More rain is also coming to regions in the north recently hit by slips and flooding.

But before it arrives we have some sunny, spring-like, weather to enjoy – so make the most of today and Saturday!
