New Zealand has afternoon downpours for the next few days, some quite heavy with thunderstorms.
The main threat is inland in both islands, but especially the Central and eastern North Island.
By Sunday and early next week most of the downpours fall apart and high pressure dominates.
Behind the high there are some big rainmakers around Aussie worth tracking, but it’s unclear what will precisely happen with them later next week.
