Apart from a few isolated showers in both islands the majority of the country will be dry this weekend, but that south to south west breeze will still be blowing, especially on Sunday when it surges back in some areas due to a weak cold front brushing Southland.
Next week low pressure drops down from the north at the same time as low pressure tries to head north – the result – another burst of rain and some windy areas mix next week for NZ.
Australia is quite settled but showers will huge coastal areas, especially in QLD, but large areas of dry. Today (Friday) a large portion of WA will be over 40C.
