Rain is very slowly moving up NZ over the coming days, boosting rainfall totals in both islands over 100mm in some locations.

The rain will be welcome most in the east of both main islands, where lately it has been drying out fast under the windier and drier conditions. T

he cold front brings a temperature drop behind it. Some parts of the lower South Island will be below average on Friday, but next week another cold injection means all of NZ will see temperatures down.

In fact, some will be 15 degrees cooler next week on where they are now. We cover the latest rain, wind and temperatures around New Zealand this weekend and into next week.
