High pressure is heading to New Zealand this Friday bringing a settled end to the week – while Queensland in Australia faces a likely a tropical cyclone later this weekend or early next week.
For NZers a shift to more westerlies in the week ahead will be good news for those in the eastern North Island sick of the rain. It should mean both a lift in drier weather and warmer weather. There will also be some parts of NZ that may well hit 30 degrees this Saturday as a pulse of hot air comes out of Australia, before NZ’s next cold front.
Meanwhile Australia is drying back out again – except Queensland now faces a direct Tropical Cyclone.

Thank you for such a clear and definitive forecast. I find the dialogue of a certain party on TV very difficult to follow. That’s the best l’ve seen since Jim Hicky. 😎👍👏 Kia ora
