VIDEO: High pressure is growing, but windy westerlies for some

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Low pressure north of NZ is still bringing in some patchy rain or showers to eastern areas – but the low will be bulldozed away by high pressure in the coming days, bringing a drier change to the north – and a sunnier change to the east.

The South Island has more frosty weather over the next couple of nights, but things warm up further this weekend and into next week.

We also have the outlook for the start of Fieldays (please note, we have special Mystery Creek videos kicking off this Sunday).

Meanwhile in Australia, high pressure dominates for most but storms in the Southern Ocean mean cold fronts and westerlies are expected along the southern coastline and Tasmania.
