VIDEO: Heavy rain, strong winds cross NZ – another burst Friday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Low pressure is affecting much of NZ with strong winds heading southwards along with heavy rain.

The rain is widespread across the country although not every region will have heavy rain.

Blustery winds with gales in exposed places continue – but in the very north of NZ conditions should start to ease across today.

We take a look at NZ’s forecast in detail to Sunday – and we briefly update Australia’s weather too.

Great work from you as usual!

Question, how are some of the Facebook weather pages able to get away with issuing weather warnings, when I thought it was ruled the Met Service are the only organisation that can issue warnings?

WW Forecast Team on 12/07/2022 7:34am

If it’s South Island based that particular forecaster is known for over-alarming. We don’t control private companies but are proud to have forged a relationship with MetService to promote their tax-funded warnings WITHOUT competition.
