VIDEO: Get ready NZ, one week from now we may have a big winter blast!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Over the next few days many regions will be warmer than average and drier with light sub-tropical winds developing, or at least northerlies.

By the middle of next week a tropical cyclone will be north east of NZ and shouldn’t affect us.

By Thursday windy westerlies kick in and by next weekend it looks as though a significant Southern Ocean storm will bring the first wintry blast of 2020.
