VIDEO: Gales on Thursday with SI cold front, high pressure (mostly) this weekend

We have a burst of spring winds on Thursday over many parts of NZ followed by a cold change in the south with a cold front.

Rain on Thursday is mostly likely in the south-west of the South Island but will move up West Coast with heavy falls and some wet weather will move into Southland and Otago but only showers further north as the front falls apart due to high pressure centred over Northland.

We have your forecast through to Tuesday next week.

The roaring forties are still prevailing right?! And not much rain? Keep up the fantastic forecasts!

Hey Edward, thanks for the support! And yes, the storms south of NZ are still very big and powerful and still are by far dominating NZ’s weather. North Island under more high pressure so increasingly dry in the north and east of NZ now.
