The weather this week will feel more wintry with frosty mornings inland and southerly winds dominating for most places.
Over Wednesday and Thursday we’ll see a few showers, mostly to the east of the North Island with colder southerlies.
The South Island and inland parts of the North Island will have frosty weather.
By the time we reach Friday a westerly flow will develop in the Deep South and by Saturday a large low will be pushing into the South Island bringing rain to the West Coast, gusty winds and then a snowy change is likely for the ski fields and ranges.
