VIDEO: Extreme winds again blast NZ this week + hot in Sydney (for now)

> From the WeatherWatch archives

More severe and damaging gales are expected across parts of New Zealand this week as spring westerlies roar into life just ahead of the Spring Equinox this coming Saturday (a traditionally windy time of year). On top of spring weather the developing El Nino is adding more dry heat and wind into the mix too.

Today’s video mostly focuses on the severe weather risks around New Zealand over the coming week – but we also touch on Tasmania’s wild weather this week and the heat coming into NSW, including Sydney forecast to reach the mid 30s C this week before a cooler change arrives on Thursday (and that’s ahead of more high pressure this coming weekend in Australia’s south-east).
