VIDEO: Ex-Cyclone Tino churns up some NZ beaches, Dry end to January for most

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s our first weather video of 2020 and we’re tracking the increased waves and rips brought in by ex-Cyclone Tino which now lies east of the North Island.

The storm will not impact our weather but it will increase wave heights, frequency and rips in our eastern beaches – mainly the North Island.

Elsewhere, apart from a couple of isolated shower, the week ahead looks dry to mainly dry nationwide. Only the West Coast has normal rainfall, all other regions will be drier than average. The week ends with westerly winds developing and high pressure parked to our north.
