Easter Weekend is here and the weather is doing what it typically does at Easter – be changeable.
While today, Thursday is a bit windy in some places Friday and Saturday will see many areas calmer and warmer.
However on Sunday and Monday a low will cross NZ from the Tasman Sea to the Pacific Ocean and start to rapidly deepen – on top of that a high from Australia is trying to move in next week and the combined effort will make for gale force winds developing Sunday PM and across Monday in both islands.
Some isolated power cuts are possible – so be prepared. We also take a look at Severe Cyclone Harold which overnight returned to Cat 5 strength as it approached Tonga. It’s now moving out to sea and away from land.

Hi Phil
You and your team are doing an amazing job, such a great distraction from what’s going on, even if the forecast is a bit average!!! Keep it up!
